Children's Director

Job Description

This is a part time position with the understanding that it could become a full time position.


Purpose

Create a safe engaging environment where children discover God's love, community with adults / peers and live a life of purpose in Christ.

  • Teach / communicate biblical truth in an engaging way.

  • Connect, relate and build strong relationships with all ages in order to teach, shepherd and disciple.

  • Create and implement ministry which leads to spiritual and numeric growth.

  • Vision, creativity, and innovation.

  • Experienced at coaching/developing volunteers.

  • A proven leader in church ministry, corporate or public roles.

  • A team player capable of fostering relational influence.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Create a dynamic & growing ministry where children are excited to be part of the church and live their lives as Jesus modeled.

  • Oversee children's ministry from birth through fifth grade.

  • Teach aspects of both the Sunday morning and Wednesday night children's program.

  • Recruit, train and schedule volunteers for both our Sunday morning and Wednesday night gatherings.

  • Select and implement quality teaching / curriculum.

  • Encourage, equip and empower parents to be their children's primary discipler.

  • Teach through our Encountering Grace study with kids who desire to put their faith in Jesus and be baptized.

  • Plan and coordinate events related to Camp Calvary, CIY Superstart, community outreach and other events that engage children and their families.

  • Attend our weekly Wednesday staff meeting.

  • Oversee, manage and make purchases related to the children's ministry budget.
