The purpose of Backpack Buddies is to supply food for "food insecure" children and families in Anderson County schools during weekends and holidays in an anonymous manner.
How YOU can help:
- Commit to pray for Backpack Buddies and specifically for the volunteers and the students that they impact
- Consider supporting them financially with either a monthly donation or a one-time gift. 100% of the donations go towards purchasing food.
- Donate food items. Suggestions include: canned veggies, canned tuna, dry pasta/mac 'n cheese, Ramen noodles, individual sized fruit cups, breakfast bars/granola bars, oatmeal in packets, cheese crackers, canned pasta (Ravioli, Spaghetti-O's, etc.) You can deliver donations to: Anderson Board of Education Office, Lawrenceburg, or bring them to the church and we will deliver them
- Sign up to help with unloading a delivery, or packing bags. Contact Elizabeth Swartz or Tina Piche for more information
- Like and Follow their Facebook page and post to show your encouragement and let them know you are praying for them
- Link your Kroger card to Backpack Buddies through Kroger's Community Rewards Program. Follow the steps online and enter code "82659" or "Anderson County Backpack Buddies." Every time you shop, you get all of your rewards AND Backpack Buddies will earn some too
