Use this guide this week to help you prepare your heart for the miracle of Easter.

    Read Matthew 28:1-20

Father, we rejoice! With all creation, we rejoice in You, in Your Son, and in Your Holy Spirit! Jesus is alive and we live because of Him! May Jesus' resurrection be apparent in our life today and every day! In Jesus' name, we pray and rejoice! Amen.

Come celebrate in church today with your brothers and sisters in Christ the resurrection of our Lord and bring as many with you as you can.

Less is written about the Saturday following Jesus' crucifixion than any other in the scope of this week. Yet what makes it unique is that this is the only full day in history where the body of Christ lies buried in a cave.

    Read Matthew 27:57-66

Dear God, we can't begin to understand the mystery of this day when Jesus' body lay in the tomb and the disciples waited together in fear, wonder and prayer. For all the times we can't see You at work, for all the hours of waiting between prayers and answers, for all the times we walk by faith, we thank You that You're patient with our impatience. You are at work even when we don't see. Increase our faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Invite someone who is not connected with a church to join you at one of our Easter services tomorrow.

After a severe beating, Jesus is nailed to a cross where he remains for six hours until His death. Never before or since has more been lost and gained at the same time.

    Read Luke 23:1-56

Father God, how can we thank you enough for the sacrifice of Your Son on the cross? Your plan of salvation is beautiful, and we rejoice that You’ve made a way for us to be in a relationship with You and to live with You forever. How we long for the world to know the truth and to participate in the redemption of Jesus Christ! We lift up all who don’t know You that they may hear the gospel and that their hearts would be fertile soil to receive the truth of Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray, Amen.

Commit to attending and inviting others to our special good Friday service tonight at 6:00 pm as a missionary with Jews for Jesus will help us to discover Christ in the Passover.

The Thursday prior to Jesus’s crucifixion begins with John and Peter securing the upper room. There, Jesus washes his disciples’ feet.

    Read John 13:1-17

Father, Jesus demonstrated servanthood in washing the feet of the apostles and humble obedience in submitting to Your will. May we be like Him today as we serve those around us and live for You. We humble ourselves before You. Show us how to live sacrificially and to extend ourselves to those in need locally and around the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Identify at least one need you can meet today i.e. someone you know who is struggling financially you could provide groceries for. Visit or call one of the widows in our church. Make a donation to a missionary. Write an encouraging card to someone in the military.

Jesus is in the home of Simon the Leper, a man known by what's wrong with him. It's here that Jesus is anointed with perfume and is “prepared for burial.”

    Read Mark 14:1-11

Lord, as the woman in Bethany anointed Jesus with perfume, so we demonstrate our devotion through praise today. As Jesus offered Himself for us on the cross, so we offer our lives to You. Make us the aroma of Christ. May the words we speak, the actions we take, and the inner workings of our hearts bring You joy. May our prayers rise like pleasing incense to Your throne. We live for Christ who died for us and lives forever. In His name, we pray. Amen.

Bake or buy some treats to fill an Easter basket; or for you men; a paper plate. Include an Easter service invitation and share it as a gift with a colleague, neighbor, friend or someone you just met.

Tuesday afternoon is the last time Jesus publicly teaches in the temple as a free man. His words on this day are his closing argument, His manifesto.

    Read John 12:37-50

Dear God, You promised a Messiah and He came, just as You said. We trust that we can count on His promised return when we will join Him forever. Make us people whose word can be trusted and who are faithful in love to You, to our families, and to our neighbors. Increase our faith and boldness to proclaim the truth of Jesus to the world. In His Name, we pray. Amen.

Camp Calvary is our mission of the month and a place where young people give their lives to Christ every year. Would you consider giving to our camp scholarship fund so young people in our church could be touched by the gospel this year at camp?

If Jerusalem was a beehive, with His triumphal entry, Jesus had hit it with a stick. You could hear the buzz grow as the anger within got organized. On Monday, Jesus returns to Jerusalem - this time to declare the failure of God’s people to live up to their covenant mandate to be a blessing to the world.

    Read Mark 11:12-19

Father God, Jesus declared that Your house would be a house of prayer. We are like living stones being built up as a spiritual house (I Peter 2:4-5). Remind us today to pray without ceasing. Today we confess our need for you and bring all our cares and concerns before Your throne. May we bring You honor and glory today with our thoughts, words, and actions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Cross Spring cleaning off your to-do-list by removing clothes you no longer wear from your closet and dropping them off at ACC for the Anderson United outreach before April 23rd. Do the same with nonperishable food in your pantry.
